Our Story

Engineering Excellence Since 1984

Originally incorporated as Leanfleet Limited and operating from Bellamy Road, Mansfield, the company rebranded to Trent Castings Limited in 2008. Over four decades, we have built a reputation for delivering precision iron castings of exceptional quality to clients across the UK and beyond.

In 2024, we relocated to a purpose-built modern foundry in New Houghton — just 10 minutes from Junction 29 of the M1 — integrating upgraded equipment and improved workflow processes that increase efficiency while reducing our environmental footprint.

A Full-Service Iron Foundry

Trent Castings Ltd is a specialist jobbing foundry supplying high-quality iron castings to a diverse range of industries. Our skilled team — including City & Guilds-qualified moulders and metallurgists — ensures that every casting meets the highest standards of dimensional accuracy and material integrity.

We operate two coreless induction furnaces capable of producing castings from as little as 0.2 kg through to heavy sections of 450 kg. Our two moulding lines, supported by high-capacity sand mixers, allow both boxed and boxless mould production using recyclable furan resin bonded sand.

How We Work

Design & Drawing Review

We work with customers from drawing stage, assessing designs for castability, material suitability, and cost efficiency before production begins.

Pattern Manufacture & Storage

On-site pattern storage for repeat orders. We work with trusted pattern-making partners to produce new tooling to your specification.

Moulding & Core-Making

Furan resin bonded sand moulding — both boxed and boxless — with high-capacity mixers ensuring consistent, recyclable mould production.

Melting & Pouring

Two coreless induction furnaces provide precise metallurgical control. Carbon equivalent testing performed prior to every heat.

Quality Control

Spectrographic analysis, metallography, and dimensional inspection. Every casting is checked against specification before dispatch.

Finishing & Dispatch

Shot blasting, fettling, and optional machining or coating through our trusted supply chain partners. Prompt UK delivery.
